Library Statement on Social Justice and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

The Faculty and Staff of the Charles Evans Inniss Memorial Library at Medgar Evers College are committed to recognizing and addressing all forms of racism and ethnic oppression.

We stand united in the pursuit to end racial and ethnic bias and to empower our students towards this collective goal through research and dialogue.

We share the feelings of those who have experienced racial injustice and stand in solidarity with protests against police brutality and systemic racism.

WE STAND COMMITTED:

1. To affirm explicitly and in united solidarity that we reject all forms of racism.

2. To assure that our anti-racism commitment be reflected through our policies, programs, and practices.

3. To develop and implement strategies and best practices that dismantle racism and ethnic oppression within all aspects of our library, college, university, community, and society.

Signed,

Library Faculty
