Using the Library: Resources

This guide will help MEC students use Library Services

RefWorks

Access from Alphabetical List of Databases

When accessing off-campus, you might need to put in the Group Code: RWMedEveC along with your Login Name and Password. The code is case-sensitive. You also might need to create a RefWorks account, including Login and PW.

Grammarly Subscription

You can register with your MEC email.
https://www.grammarly.com/enterprise/signup
You can also download the app to your phone or ipad and log in. (If so make sure the app is turned on in keyboards).

Scanner Apps for your Smartphone

Scanner apps can combine documents in a multi-page pdf, which may be more usable than the single images that cameras produce. CUNY provides free Dropbox accounts to CUNY students, faculty, and administrative staff, and the Dropbox phone app contains a scanner.

Use a scanner app for:

  • Creating multi-page documents
  • Cloud sync to a storage service (password protected accounts)
  • Cropping
  • Fast optimization or option to delay
  • Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for best accessibility
