Overview of Copyright

Copyright law gives creators certain kinds of control over their creative work. Traditional copyright gives owners the exclusive right to make copies of their work, usually for a limited time. If people want to use copyrighted work, they usually have to ask for permission from the creator. Creative Commons licenses allow creators to grant permission to everyone in the world to use their work in certain ways.
